UPDATE: Five experts from around the world will be in Richmond on March 11 to discuss the human, environmental and economic impacts of uranium mining during an all-day symposium. The scientists have witnessed first-hand the operations and impacts of uranium mines in the U.S. and around the globe, and have written extensively on issues of water quality, health consequences, economic impacts, and alternatives. In their presentations, the experts will reveal the reality of uranium mining impacts versus the rhetoric of the industry. The event is free and open to the public.

- 1:30-2:15 PM Gordon Edwards The Canadian experience with uranium
- 2:15-3 PM Rianne Teule Report from the recent field trip to Niger Africa to measure radiation levels in a major city near the uranium mining.

- 3:15- 4:30 PM Concluding Panel of the 5 Experts with Initial questions from Officials and Organizations who will pose questions that have not been addressed or that need further replies
