Charlotte Moss, one of America’s most celebrated interior designers, will keynote the 15th annual Women & Wellness fundraisers on Feb. 9, 2010, at The Jefferson Hotel, to benefit research for women’s cancers at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Massey Cancer Center.
Moss, a Richmond native, VCU alumna, author, designer, business executive and retailer, will talk about “A Flair for Living and Living with Style” at the breakfast and luncheon events.
Proceeds from these signature events will benefit research on women’s cancers, including breast cancer and gynecologic cancers, at Massey Cancer Center, Richmond’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center.
“Entering the new decade, we are eager to hear from Charlotte Moss, a trusted authority on living comfortably and graciously,” says Mary Kathryn Woodward, chair of the fundraisers. With co-chair Liz Hart, she leads more than 40 volunteers who orchestrate this ever-expanding event, which has raised nearly $2 million for Massey since its inception.
The Jenkins Foundation again is the presenting sponsor.
The breakfast and luncheon include a “Chance for a Cure” raffle for research, which includes a top prize of a lease on a 2010 MINI Cooper from Crown MINI, and prizes from Schwarzchild’s Jewelers and Saks Fifth Avenue, among others.
The breakfast is from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. The luncheon begins with a reception at 12:00 p.m., followed by the luncheon and program from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The cost is $75 and $100 per person, respectively.
Invitations were mailed on January 1 to past participants, and reservations will be made upon receipt of payment on a first-come, first-served basis. To request an invitation, call (804) 827-9486.
