Many Virginians are gearing up for the Thanksgiving holiday, buoyed by visions of tables full of food and warm homes filled with families and friends. To bring awareness to the fact that many citizens across America won’t enjoy those same pleasures, some Lynchburg College students plan to sleep outside and partake in fasting. This effort is to put an emphasis on the nation’s homeless and hungry.
Your participation in portions of this this event could make a positive difference for someone who won’t have a full table or a warm home filled with friends and family. Plus, you might help some needy student win a $100 Visa Gift Card. Look for the events throughout this week where you can become involved as a student or as a non-student. The least anyone can do is to enjoy the choral union’s benefit for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (already posted on this calendar).
