The Southern Virginia Bioenergy Research and Commericalization Conference will be held at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) on 150 Slayton Avenue, Danville, Virginia. Note that you must register by March 19, 2010 for this conference.
Beginning at 8:45 a.m., the conference will feature (see the program below):
- The Honorable Jim Cheng, Secretary of Commerce and Trade, delivering the keynote address.
- Researchers from Virginia Tech and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory outlining bioenergy research at their institutions.
- A discussion of ethanol production of Appomattox Bioenergy (Osage Bio Energy),
- Allard Research mini-biorefineries.
- Piedmont Geriatric Hospital direct-firing strategies using warm season grasses.
- Combined heat and power projects of Western Virginia Water Authority.
- Algae to fuel projects conducted by Sprouse Industries.
- A post-conference demonstration conducted by Piedmont Biofuels based in North Carolina.
